In the dance performance “Blocks” four challanged dancers work together with four professional dancers. The piece is about the ever rapidly changing city of Caïro and visualized in eleven wooden block on which the dancers sit, move and dance and take from point a to point b. As the city shapes the dancers respond to this by the use of three mobile blocks. Choreographed as a group and individually between dancers and the blocks or the blocks themselves.
Blocks was part of the D-CAF Festival in Caïro, Egypt and funded by the Dutch Embassy. It received coverage from the national news and international from the BBC and Al-Jazeera.
